Good to Know in Marion County
- Indiana's preemption law (IC 35-47-11.1-2) generally bars cities and counties from regulating firearm ownership, carrying, transfers and sales, so buying and transferring a gun works the same in Indianapolis as in Greenfield.
- For range time, the DNR runs a public range at Atterbury Fish & Wildlife Area in Johnson County, south of Indianapolis, with rifle, handgun, shotgun, trap, skeet and archery. Lanes are $9 an hour for the first shooter.
