The CZ Bren 2 MS is a lightweight semi-automatic pistol in 7.62x39mm built on the Bren 2 platform. It runs a short-stroke gas piston system with the return spring housed inside the action. The aluminum upper and carbon fiber composite lower keep the weight down. The modular forend can be swapped to different lengths or styles to suit the shooter. The non-reciprocating charging handle stays stowed forward until needed and can be moved from side to side. AR-style bolt catch and release controls are mirrored on both sides, and the magazine release and safety are ambidextrous.
